Biography
Emilio Pons (Doctor of Music, Indiana University) made his debut in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor at the Mariinsky Theatre, Russia.
Engagements in Germany followed, including Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Prinzregenten Theatre in Munich, Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Freiburg Theatre, and Tchaikovsky’s Yevgeny Onegin, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Britten’s Curlew River, Henze’s Phaedra and Granados’s Goyescas at the Heidelberg Theatre.
Emilio Pons was a prize winner at the 2007 Hans Gabor Belvedere (Austria), 2006 Pavel Lisitsian (Russia) and 2005 Irma Cooper (USA) and Palm Beach Opera (USA) Competitions, and a recipient of grants from Mexico’s FONCA, INBA and SIVAM. He currently studies with Francisco Araiza.
