Overview

Pianist and composer Matan Porat’s artistic evolution has been led by the breadth of his musical interests and his mind’s intense curiosity, qualities vividly mirrored in this programme.

His recital opens with a modern masterwork, Ligeti’s carefully constructed Musica Ricercata, presented in tandem with movements from Rameau’s Suite in A minor. Porat also offers his thoughts on Piano Sonata in A D959, among Schubert’s last and finest compositions.
