Overview
Following the tragically early death of this remarkable singer, Wigmore Hall Live are delighted to release a recording of one of Lorraine Hunt Lieberson’s most revered concerts at the Hall. Recorded in 1998 this recital features songs by her two signature composers – Mahler and Handel, and also songs by her husband, Peter Lieberson, who took much of his inspiration from her exquisite voice.
This CD is not only a heartfelt tribute to a singer who touched everyone who heard her, but is also a must for anyone who looks to be moved by the music they hear.
“Lorraine Hunt Lieberson was one of the most important and inspiring voices of our time, as this breathtaking recording testifies. We are deeply pleased to bring Wigmore Hall's musical program to a much wider audience through Wigmore Hall Live”. John Gilhooly, Director of Wigmore Hall
