Graham Johnson Songmakers' Almanac

Graham Johnson's Songmakers' Almanac first came to Wigmore Hall in 1977, reinventing the song recital for a new generation of performers and audiences. With themed programmes taking in familiar and neglected song repertoire as well as extracts from letters, diaries and much more, Johnson created a fresh context in which to explore composers, writers and ideas.

The Songmakers' Almanac was revived by Wigmore Hall director John Gilhooly in January 2019, to continue the Hall's decades long dedication to the art of the song recital.
