Jörg Widmann represents the tradition of the composer-performer at Wigmore Hall. Busoni and Ysaÿe were among the first artists to take to the stage and there have been so many others since, from Britten and Poulenc to Thomas Adès and Huw Watkins. Widmann’s music is a very significant part of the modern German voice in composition and the breadth of this series means that we can explore and celebrate the full spectrum of his work.

Jörg Widmann’s residency is made possible with additional support from the Wigmore Hall Endowment Fund
