Born in Innsbruck in 1963, over the last few years the outstanding Austrian composer and pianist Thomas Larcher has become increasingly prominent on the international scene: his opera The Hunting Gun was premièred in Bregenz in 2018, repeated at Aldeburgh last year and revived earlier this year in Amsterdam. John Gilhooly first introduced Larcher to Wigmore audiences in 2011, and is now delighted to invite him back for a season-long focus.

Thomas Larcher, Wigmore Hall’s Composer in Residence, is supported by The Marchus Trust
