ECM (Edition of Contemporary Music) Records was founded by musician and record producer Manfred Eicher in Munich in 1969: the list of jazz musicians invited to record for the label is an extraordinary one. Subsequently, in 1984, Eicher went on to inaugurate the ECM New Series for classical music – building up an equally distinguished list in that genre too. John Gilhooly has invited Eicher to present four concerts across the season on the company’s 50th anniversary year, starting with a double bill in December.
