  • Escher String Quartet

Founded in 2005 and made up of students from the Manhattan School of Music, the Escher offers an all-Dvořák programme featuring a major work written hurriedly after the composer saw an announcement of its forthcoming première, together with a selection from his collection Cypresses – originally composed as love songs.

  • Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904)
      • Cypresses B. 11
        • 1. Sing Fervent Songs At Nightfall (Vy vroucí písne spejte)
        • 11. My Heart is Plunged Into Sadness (Mé srdce casto v bolesti)
        • 9. I Wander Often Past Yonder House (Kol domu se ted potácím)
        • String Quartet in C Op. 61
