Key Stage 1 Music-Making Resources

Music education expert Sue Nicholls developed this practical and accessible resource, which aims to support teachers to…
…Explore songs and raps
…Gain ideas to promote listening, improvising and composing
…Lead activities to forge links across the Key Stage 1 curriculum
…Use music across topics and themes

The following units of work offer opportunities to deliver music as an integral part of the Key Stage 1 curriculum. The material can be accessed in any way that suits the practitioner: weekly sessions over a half term or a ‘dip-in’ approach. Many of the songs are set to familiar tunes, making the material completely accessible to non-music readers.
