Wigmore Hall Closure
A message from Wigmore Hall’s Director, John Gilhooly
Monday 30 March 2020
Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Wigmore Hall will be closed for the remainder of the 2019/20 Season, until 31 July 2020.
We are very sorry to announce that all concerts and events until this date are therefore cancelled.
Ticket holders for these events will be contacted directly and will automatically receive a credit to their Wigmore Hall account.
We have been asking ticket holders, where they feel able, to donate the proceeds of their cancelled bookings to Wigmore Hall. We have been humbled by the response so far and would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who have been so generous.
In view of this extended closure, we need your support more than ever. We have been humbled by the generosity and encouragement we have received so far, with many choosing to donate their tickets instead of receiving refunds. Any additional donations will help us to protect the Hall’s future, sustain our operations over the coming months and look ahead with confidence to reopening the Hall for the music making that is so important to us all.
We plan to reopen the Hall on Thursday 10 September for the beginning of the 2020/21 Season, and very much hope you will join us for many more concerts then. Full details of the concerts in this period will be published shortly, with Priority Booking open to Friends of Wigmore Hall from 7 April and public sale currently scheduled for Tuesday 14 July.
If the situation improves faster than anticipated, we will of course re-evaluate our plans and salvage what we can of the latter part of the current planned season in July. So much of this is out of our hands. Unfortunately, we are in very uncertain times and can only react to developments as they happen.
Thank you for your patience at this time and your support of Wigmore Hall.
We send every possible good wish to you all at this difficult time,
Contacting Wigmore Hall
In line with Government advice, Wigmore Hall staff will be working from home; however, there are procedures in place to ensure customers with any questions will still be able to contact the Box Office during this period of closure.
