Sandy Burnett meets with students from St. Marylebone High School to find out about a new Wigmore Hall Learning initiative, the Young Producers project. Wigmore Hall Young Producers are a group of 15 teenagers from St Marylebone School who have been working since September 2010 with project mentor Kerry Andrew to programme a concert on Friday 1 April 2011 for young people.
The aim of the Young Producers project is to offer young people an opportunity to devise a concert at Wigmore Hall completely under their own terms, and further personal and professional aspirations through involvement in project planning and engagement with professional artists at a renowned venue. Responsibilities under taken have included the management of the concert budget, marketing and programming of repertoire, design and PR.
