String Quartet Competition Ambassadors

Are you a string quartet enthusiast who believes in supporting young artists at the start of their careers? Support young artists by becoming an Ambassador for the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition

The triennial Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition provides a vital public platform from which young musicians can break into the world of professional performance at the highest level.

How you can help

Donations from Ambassadors make a vital contribution towards the costs of the Competition. The value of the Competition to prize-winning quartets is enormous, as it provides unique professional development opportunities in addition to cash prizes such as:

  • High-level training and professional development
  • Enhanced profile
  • Recital engagements in the UK, Europe and the USA
  • Recordings and residencies

We strongly believe that the benefits of the Competition should extend beyond the main prize-winners and support from the Ambassadors helps fund development opportunities such as concert tours, coaching and masterclasses.

Benefits

In return for your support as an Ambassador you will receive:

  • Priority booking for the Competition
  • Advance information about the Competition and regular news updates
  • Personal credit in the Competition programme and on the Competition website
  • CD of the Competition Final recorded live at Wigmore Hall

Ambassadors also have opportunities to meet participating artists and the distinguished jury, and be kept up to date with the competitors' progress after the Competition.

Join the Ambassadors

We welcome donations at any level and are looking for three-year commitments. You can become an Ambassador at any time - your donations will go into the fund for the next Competition (2015, 2018, 2021 and so on).

  • £2000+ per year for 3 years helps us provide an outstanding professional development programme for the Competition winners, including worldwide recital and festival engagements and appearances at prestigious masterclasses
  • £1000+ per year for 3 years enables us to offer a number of special cash prizes, not only to the Competition winners
  • £300+ per year for 3 years provides a solid foundation towards our general Competition costs
