Two leading British composers are heard alongside 20th-century classics. A newly arranged extract from Oliver Leith’s mesmerising recent opera, based on a fictionalised account of the last days of Kurt Cobain, unveiled at the Linbury Theatre in 2022, is performed for the first time alongside a memorial piece Anna Clyne dedicated to her mother which was premièred by members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Esa-Pekka Salonen in 2009.
