The Takács Quartet sets the tone with his Quartettsatz in C minor. Its single movement serves as the intense point of departure for the ‘Rosamunde’ Quartet’s contrasting moods and the haunting melancholy of the monumental ‘Death and the Maiden’ Quartet of 1824.
