Overview
Swiss pianist Andreas Haefliger joins the Doric String Quartet for a performance of one of the last century’s most powerful and uplifting chamber music compositions.
While Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet in G minor includes irony and melancholy, it stands above all for optimism in an age of bloodshed and brutality, as meaningful today as it was at the time of its composition in 1940.
