Overview
Not long after its foundation the Finnish quartet Meta4 made its mark by winning the 2004 International Shostakovich Quartet Competition in Moscow.
Formerly in the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme, the ensemble returns to Wigmore Hall with the fascinating combination of Haydn’s String Quartet in C Op. 20 No. 2, a richly textured early masterwork, and Schumann’s intensely Romantic String Quartet in A minor Op. 41 No. 1.
