    Overview

    Monteverdi’s famous sestina, ‘Tears of a lover at the tomb of the beloved’, from his Sixth Book of Madrigals, provides the context for four recent works and an improvised piece.

    Hugo Ticciati and Friends are joined by award-winning vocal ensemble Voces 8 in a programme rooted in the spiritual intensity and concentrated beauty of works by Arvo Pärt, John Tavener and Pēteris Vasks.
