Founded in 1983 by members of the Berlin Philharmonic, Scharoun Ensemble Berlin performs everything from baroque music to contemporary works.

The core group, comprising clarinet, bassoon, horn, two violins, viola, cello and double bass, demonstrates its versatility with contemporary works by Hans Werner Henze and Mark-Anthony Turnage, and a performance of Schubert’s monumental Octet.
