    The Borodin Quartet prefacesthe work with the short String Quartet No. 7, a scoredistilled down to leave the essence of emotionalexpression. Beethoven’s Op. 127, the first of hislate quartets, points to the eternal serenity that liesbeyond the chaos of humanity’s struggle for survival.
