Overview
Igor Levit begins his Beethoven Cycle with the composer’s first pianosonata with an opus number, the dashing Piano Sonata No. 1 inF minor, and embraces works from the composer’s later maturity.
His recital’s second half pairs the neo-classical simplicity of the PianoSonata No. 25 with the Romantic extremes and heroic grandeur ofthe ‘Waldstein’ Sonata.
