Nelson Goerner charts the creative crosscurrentsthat connected the diverse musical worlds of earlytwentieth-century Europe in his latest Wigmore Hallrecital.

The Argentine pianist, celebrated for his Debussy interpretations, offers a selection from the French composer’s Préludes Book I before probing some of Chopin’s finest miniatures, including his ‘tragic’ Polonaise in F sharp minor Op. 44, often described as such because of its grotesque and dark atmosphere.
