Bach’s Inventions, intended for teaching purposes, stand as a monument tothe creation of musical ideas and their development.

Sir András Schiff’s recitalalso explores the breath-taking range of creativity in Bartók’s folksong-inspiredminiatures, the first volume of Janáček’s On an overgrown path (Book I) andthe eighteen peerless character pieces of Schumann’s Davidsbündlertänze.
