    A grand first half of festive Venetian polychoralmusic prefaces Heinrich Schütz’s magical settingof the Christmas Story, complete with a cast of WiseMen, Shepherds, High Priests, the Angel bearingglad tidings, the Heavenly Host, and the villainousHerod, all backed by a wonderfully colourfulinstrumental ensemble of violins, violettas, cornetti,sackbuts, recorders, dulcian and continuo.
