    Alison Balsom opens her recital with a homage toLeipzig’s finest trumpeter, Gottfried Reiche, for whomBach wrote so many high-flying clarino parts, andexplores dazzling original compositions by Biber,Fantini, Löwe von Eisenach and Torelli.

    Balsom then explores the trumpet’s lyrical voice in her transcriptions and arrangements of songs by Dowland, before ending with an exciting selection from Handel’s wonderful ‘Music for the Royal Fireworks’.
