Overview
The French composers in this programme matchedeloquent native poetry to exquisite melodies. Fauré,for instance, was able to enhance the verse ofPrudhomme and Leconte de Lisle, while ReynaldoHahn applied his considerable song-writing giftsto Verlaine’s ‘D’une prison’.
