Theirprogramme includes works by Huw Watkins andJulian Anderson recently premièred by the Nash. There’s a London première for Sir Peter MaxwellDavies’s A Sea of Cold Flame, the last of his manysettings of poems by Orcadian writer George MackayBrown, two pieces by Colin Matthews, his virtuosicFuga and a new work specially written for RoderickWilliams, and another world première, Simon Holt’swind quintet. The latter’s title, a hybrid of theSpanish words for ‘bagatelle’ and ‘cobwebs’, reflectsits breathtaking lightness of touch.
