Swedish cellist Jakob Koranyi, an ECHO Rising Starin 2011/12, has earned critical plaudits for thevisionary nature of his interpretations and thebreadth of his repertoire.

He and Juho Pohjonenprobe the deceptive simplicity of three songs fromGrieg’s Haugtussa cycle before plunging into theturbulent emotional world of Shostakovich’s CelloSonata in D minor.
