Programme

Overview

Brahms wrote one of his most lyrical and radiantchamber works during a summer break in Switzerlandin 1886. The Violin Sonata No. 2, although concise, calls for great virtuosity and empathy from bothparticipants.

Long-time duo partners Tasmin Littleand John Lenehan also explore the unrestrainedromanticism of Strauss’s no less demanding ViolinSonata Op. 18.
