The Brightness Within is a unique and intimate performance created by Abimaro and Wigmore Hall’s Young Producers, a group of young people from Cardinal Hume Centre who have been working with project mentor Lucy Drever and Abimaro to programme, promote, plan and present this very special event.

Their chosen theme of The Brightness Within is inspired by Abimaro’s music, which the Young Producers described as a feeling of being taken to another world. The storytelling in her songs captured their imagination with its themes of love, patience, passion, gratitude and hope.

Following her 2016 tour of the UK and Germany, Abimaro released her debut solo release Something Prettier Than Before, which blends the freedom of the voice and guitar, capturing the human heart in all its intricacies and complexities.

Cardinal Hume Centre enables people to gain the skills they need to overcome poverty and homelessness, working with homeless young people, badly housed families and others in need.
