Christian Gerhaher and his regular duo partner,Gerold Huber, return to Wigmore Hall to surveyBrahms’s Die schöne Magelone, a cycle of 15 songsrooted in themes from medieval legend to poetrytaken from Ludwig Tieck’s Romantic novella aboutthe beautiful Magelone, a Neapolitan princess, andher love for Count Peter of Provence.

The songs areinterwoven with descriptive prose, read in Englishtranslation by actor Ulrich Tukur.
