Described by The New York Times as ‘an accordionist of extraordinary skill and virtuosity, who owns the emotional flourishes of French musette and Argentinian tango,’ this concert presents Richard Galliano at his most powerful, stripping away amplification and accompanists to give a gloriously lyrical solo recital. Galliano was inspired by the ‘New Tango’ of Astor Piazzolla to create his own music, which takes inspiration from jazz improvisation and ranges exuberantly from JS Bach to the glories of the French chanson.
