Two exceptional artists – theFrench pianist especiallyadmired for his interpretations ofSchumann and Fauré – unite fora programme devoted to majorcycles by both composers. Theformer’s Heine cycle precedes thelatter’s Verlaine settings of 1892-4,dedicated to Emma Bardac, withwhom Fauré was in love at thetime of composition.
