In this opening instalment they perform the first four examples(1797-1800), the Op. 12 set dedicated to Beethoven’s teacherAntonio Salieri, the single sonata Op. 23 to his patron CountMoritz von Fries, dedicatee of several important works includingthe Seventh Symphony.
