Joined by the renowned pianist Elena Bashkirova, Academymembers perform Schnittke’s 1976 Quintet dedicated to thememory of his mother and, in his words, ‘based upon situationsof genuine grief’; Dohnányi’s attractive 1902 piece; and its model,Beethoven’s early trio.
