Firm favourite at Wigmore Hall, the British quartet founded at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2002 has won exceptional praise for live releases such as the Tippett quartets and those by Bartók. Today the quartet pairs a selection from Bach’s The Art of Fugue with one of Beethoven’s quartets from the set commissioned by the Russian ambassador in Vienna, Count Andreas Razumovsky.
