Overview

The ensemble’s all-Handel programme brings together two sonatas and a selection of beautiful duets, culminating in the 1708 cantata Amarilli Vezzosa, one of a few cantatas that only survive, unpublished, in manuscripts in the Santini collection at Münster. It tells the story of Daliso and Amaryllis, a shepherd and shepherdess; Amaryllis pledged her love to him but has changed her mind, and Daliso is unhappy at the rejection.
