Overview
When the trio made its first recording, featuring Beethoven’s Ghost Trio, in 2018, it received exceptional praise in The Strad magazine: ‘a debut recording we should all listen to […] it’s hard to know how Trio Isimsiz could have bettered such artistry and distinctiveness’. Korngold’s First Piano Trio, his official opus 1, dates from 1910, when he was just 13. Wolfgang Rihm acknowledges in the title of his essays for piano trio, dating from the early 1980s, the ‘strangeness’ or ‘foreignness’.
