Admission: One Shilling, devised by Dame Myra Hess’s great-nephew, the composer Nigel Hess, tells the story, through words, music and images, of the series of morale-boosting National Gallery Lunchtime Concerts which Dame Myra organised and took part in during the Second World War. The presentation draws widely on conversations, correspondence, broadcasts and comments, as well as Dame Myra’s extensive repertoire.
