Overview
The year after his Beethoven sonata cycle received the 2019 Gramophone Artist of the Year award, the Russian-German pianist succeeded in sustaining a relationship with audiences with numerous performances made at his home and posted on Twitter. Released as part of his recent three-disc set On DSCH, his interpretations of Shostakovich’s 1950-1 set of Preludes and Fugues have been warmly welcomed.
