Few artists have explored Schubert’s great song cycle with the concentrated dedication of tonight’s tenor, whose substantial volume Schubert’s Winter Journey: Anatomy of an Obsession was published in 2015. His own performances of the epic work have fascinated audiences since 1985; he and the Canadian pianist first collaborated on Winterreise in 2019.
