Overview

Immediately following Easter, a programme focusing on Bach’s celebrations of the feast, notably his Easter Oratorio, expanded from a cantata originally performed in Leipzig on Easter Sunday 1725; the programme begins with a cantata composed for the first Sunday after Easter that same year, and includes an organ fantasy based on a chorale marking the Resurrection.
