Overview

The Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir’s atmospheric and ‘wonderfully distinct’ music, as described by the judging panel for her 2021 Ivors Academy Award, is the focus for musicians from the Royal Northern College of Music in this special concert, featuring several of Anna's small-scale pieces for solo, duo and a range of chamber ensembles, many of which are performed at Wigmore Hall for the first time.

Deeply inspired by nature and the barren landscape of her homeland, this is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in a soundworld that is ‘never less than fascinating’ (Gramophone).
