Invisible Stream is about these 'invisible currents' that link people, artists, improvisers, musicians, beyond aesthetic and cultural borders. The perfect opportunity for Jean-Guihen Queyras and Raphaël Imbert to demonstrate the chemistry that makes each of their collaborations so captivating. The musical and spiritual fire between the virtuoso cellist and the creative saxophonist has already ignited the public during memorable evenings in Forcalquier and in Aix-en-Provence, during the Festival of Lyric Art. Creating this improvised chamber music quartet, they join forces and root themselves in the practice of the group, of the ensemble and of sharing.

Starting from a re-reading of his own repertoire of compositions, Raphaël Imbert invites Jean-Guihen to improvise and interact on this terrain while evoking the spirit of Edouard Glissant, Pierre Barouh, the music of Richard Wagner, Sergei Prokofiev, Hanns Eisler, Franz Schubert, so many adventurers in search of invisible currents. Two artists join the two explorers of sound: Pierre-François Blanchard on piano, previously seen alongside Pierre Barouh, Marion Rampal and in Raphaël Imbert's Music is My Hope, a poet with imperial listening and swing; and Sonny Troupé, master of the Guadeloupean Ka drum and renowned drummer in the international jazz scene, whose sense of nuance transforms percussion into a chamber instrument.

Invisible Stream is an improvised and poetic celebration, organised by four leading members of the dynamic international music scene, both in jazz and classical music.
