Heath Quartet
This concert will be approximately 1 hour in duration, without an interval
Significant moments in the upward rise of the ensemble include its Young Artists Award from the Royal Philharmonic Society in 2013 and three years later a Gramophone Award for its recording of Tippett’s quartets. The music of Fanny Mendelssohn is now receiving well-deserved attention: in the words of musicologist R Larry Todd, her quartet (1834) is ‘among the most imaginative and compelling reactions of a generation of Romantic composers who were the first to come to terms with the late style of Beethoven.’
This concert is part of the CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust ticket scheme, offering free tickets to those aged 8-25
