Overview

Created in 2018, and a joint initiative of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris with the Royaumont Foundation, the Académie Orsay-Royaumont gives young artists the chance to work with the greatest masters in the disciplines of French mélodie and German Lied. Some of the results can be sampled here, with music by neglected figures heard alongside classics of the French and German song repertoires. Masters of the 2022 promotion include Dame Felicity Lott, Sebastian Wybrew, Bernarda Fink, Anthony Spiri, Véronique Gens, Susan Manoff, Stéphane Degout & Alain Planès.
