Overview
Once again Jean-Efflam Bavouzet locates Debussy in the context of his contemporaries, in this instance Fauré (whose 1894 Sixth Nocturne Bryce Morrison places ‘among the most rich and eloquent of [his] piano works’) and Bartók, the seventh of whose Improvisations was published in December 1920 in an issue of the French musical magazine La revue musicale dedicated to Debussy’s memory.
