Working in a variety of fields, and widely recognised as one of America’s leading jazz pianists, composers and multimedia performers, Jason Moran has recorded many albums as a soloist, as part of his trio The Bandwagon, and also as a member of larger ensembles. In 2010 he was awarded a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship and, following a series of residencies at the New England Conservatory, he joined that institution’s faculty. Appointed the Kennedy Centre’s Advisor for Jazz in 2011, three years later he became the venue’s Artistic Director for the artform. Presenting original compositions and jazz standards, he will announce his eclectic programme from the stage.
