    Overview

    A tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the programme opens with the beautiful and romantic Raga Desh. The second half comprises Amjad Ali Khan’s Sarod Concerto, whose Sanskrit title means ‘confluence’ or ‘flowing together’, and which contains 12 different ragas. The Concerto will be performed by Amjad with theRefugee Orchestra Project, founded by conductorLidiya Yankovskaya, which aims to demonstratethe important role that refugees from across theglobe play in contributing to culture and society.
