Overview

Tonight's programme opens with songs from the British-Ukrainian classical mezzo-soprano Rozanna Madylus, and an ensemble of cross-genre, sought-after instrumentalists, Counterpoise. Together they perform Brünnhilde’s Dream, a sequence of words and music imagining the state of mind of Wotan’s favourite Valkyrie daughter as she lies on the rock, surrounded by fire, after the end of Die Walküre. Music by Wagner, Fanny Mendelssohn, Szymanowski, Berg, Schubert, Schoeck, Zemlinsky, Rebecca Clarke, Vilma von Webenau, Schumann and Johanna Müller-Hermann. Text by Barry Millington.

This concert is part of the CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust ticket scheme, offering free tickets to those aged 8-25
