Overview

Beethoven was one of Busoni’s predilections. Like Kurt Weill, the Russian-born, Swiss composer Wladimir Vogel (1896-1984) was a pupil of Busoni’s; his settings of the German Expressionist poet August Schramm, who was killed in action in 1915, date from 1922.

The Busoni Series is made possible with support from the Wigmore Hall Endowment Fund.
